DNP Spades

[-]
One dark and lonely night in college, I wandered into a Yahoo Spades game room. By some miraculous chance of fate, I sat at a table where players were using strategies not commonly seen by outsiders. I played with them, and they did all sorts of crazy things like bidding 13, setting their own nils, and generally appearing ignorant to the rules of the game, all the while beating me and my partner completely. My partner called them cheaters and left. On the other hand, I was intrigued and asked to watch another game. After that game, I was convinced there was something more behind it. I asked to learn, and they taught. I learned all sorts of arcane rituals and insane bidding strategies. Unfortunately, finals were soon upon me, so my spades days were numbered. When I returned, they were gone. And so I am an apprentice left without a master

DNP Spades is an interesting variation of regular spades that you can play with some pretty standard rules. Yahoo Spades allows this sort of play. If anyone wants to play like this, first read up, and then come play! My personal style is documented here, if you want to know what kind of a partner I'll be.

The Fair Tax

[-]
Yup, I'm a FairTax? supporter. Read about a bit of math I've done concerning how it'd affect me, and learn how to do the same math for yourself.

Culdcept Saga

[-]
I like CCG's way too much. In an effort to reduce the impact to my wallet, I started only buying CCG's in video game form. The Pokemon Trading Card game for GBA was a pretty good example. Now, I've found a more powerful drug.

Culdcept Sagaexternal link is a board game AND a CCG. Too awesome. I'll be posting some of the decks I use with my thoughts.

Nonoba

[-]
Nonobaexternal link is a pretty fun Flash game site. Here's my thoughts on some of the games?.

Here?'s all the pieces to my online dynasty strategy.

Graph Racing

[-]
This little game is too much fun. The best part: all you need is some graph paper, a pencil, and some players.

Legos

[-]
C'mon, surely you remember all the fun you had raking through Legos to find the one particular part you needed, only to find it bound impossibly tight to another piece? Or building castles just to bombard them with softballs to see when they fell apart?

Recently I started to marry this old childhood favorite to another guilty pleasure: tabletop RPGs. Using Legos to create your own minatures is easy, infinitely customizable, and surprisingly cheap! If you don't mind a bit of work in an image editor, you might never spend $6 on a single figure ever again.

Puzzle Pirates

[-]
Yup, Puzzle Pirate? resources.
